Held from 12 to 14 March 2022 at Bourg-sur-Gironde near Bordeaux, the 22nd Citadelles du Vin competition has just drawn to a close. High-level winners received awards following tastings that were organised in almost “normal”, pre-COVID conditions for the first time since 2019.
The 2022 Citadelles du Vin competition welcomed 40 jurors of 21 nationalities to taste 831 samples from 24 countries over three days. The tastings resulted in the awarding of 15 Special Prizes, as well as 232 Gold and Silver medals (76 Gold).
This year’s competition was marked by the significant participation and fantastic results of winegrowers from North Macedonia, the guest of honour, who received 21 medals, including 2 Special Prizes.
