Organised from 11 to 13 March in Bourg-sur-Gironde, near Bordeaux, the 23rd edition of the Citadelles du Vin competition has delivered a very strong list of winners. Indeed, only Grand Gold and Gold medals were awarded, proving the very high quality of the samples competing this year. Panellists of 18 nationalities tasted the wines, more than 75% of which were foreign, demonstrating once again the influence and prestige of this competition.
For 3 days, the Citadelles du Vin 2023 invited 35 tasters to judge 625 samples. The tastings resulted in the awarding of 179 medals: 31 Grand Gold and 148 Gold medals. Among these winners, 17 also received a supreme distinction in the form of Special Prizes, including 2 for Argentinian wines, this edition’s guest country.
